The BRAN FINISHER GRSP 500/1000 is a machine typically used in the intermediate and final stages of grinding processes. It is used to remove the endosperm part from the cortical parts of the kernel while preserving its integrity as much as possible. The process takes place by combined mechanical action of shock and abrasion.
In the bran finisher the product is dragged from the inlet towards the inside of the rotor and distributed in the mantle. Inside the rotor the product is then centrifuged and thrown intensely against the perforated sheet metal coat.
The fine parts that come off due to the impact and rubbing escape through the calibrated holes of the mantle while the larger parts of the pericarp continue the centrifugal path to the rear exit.
Adjustable blades are hidden by a carter above the machine; according to their inclination (that can be regulated from outside), they adjust the speed of advancement of the product, thus obtaining the desired yield.
Decades of experience in the design, construction, and monitoring of the operation of bran finishers has led us to the creation of a new optimized and improved model, which has features that make it simpler and more efficient, more hygienic, and more functional.
The machine consists of:
- the rotor, mounted on bearings with a double row of barrel rollers, consisting of a central shaft, a series of radial supports and the beaters. The latter, with their particular shape, guarantee the continuous contact of the product with the shell and the simultaneous advancement of the same towards the discharge.
- the perforated, semi-cylindrical mantle, consisting only of a perforated and folded plate, is fixed externally to the rotor. This mantle, removable both from the back and from the sides, is supported in the upper part by a rapid pneumatic system that binds it safely. The control and/or replacement operations of the perforated metal sheet can therefore be carried out quickly by a single operator.
- the machine body, which encloses and contains the rotor and the mantle, is provided with side and rear doors that can be easily opened. Integral part of the machine body are also the hoppers for product and waste discharge and the supporting legs.
In this model the rotor is directly driven by means of a coupling joint, thus avoiding the use of belts and pulleys.
A particular system of adjustable slits and channels guarantees an effective entrance of external suction air avoiding the formation of stagnation and moulds.
An accurate study of the design of the brush-crusher and its integration in the plants has allowed us to optimize the machine also under the hygienic, ergonomic, and functional aspect, simplifying its assembly and connection to the milling plants.
