Feeder blender

The FEEDER BLENDER GMIX is a machine used to mix and homogenize a compound of one or more products, including density, grain size and different characteristics. In milling it is often used for the mixture of various types of flours with various additives or other components.

G&AS-built mixers can be divided into three main families:

  1. discontinuous mixers with central exhaust;
  2. discontinuous total exhaust mixers;
  3. continuous mixers.

These three categories can be further divided by the type of rotating reel that can be:

  • tape (a hollow screw conveyor with a double concentric coil)
  • vomer
  • palette.

The choice depends on the capacity, the purpose of the process and the types of ingredients that have to be mixed.

The feeder blender consists of an oval or semi-circular chamber with a reel inside that, with its rotation, mixes the various ingredients to form a unique, uniform, homogeneous and amalgamated product.
The command of the reel is done by a gear motor, usually placed coaxially with it, or on request by chain referral.

Particular attention in the design and construction phase is given in order to reduce or eliminate all possible residues and/or stagnation of products that can contaminate mixtures. G&AS mixers ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness by providing all the necessary measures to facilitate access, testing and maintenance.

Discontinuous mixers

In discontinuous mixers, the ingredients are loaded simultaneously or individually from above in the required amount and are then mixed for as long as necessary. Once mixed, they can be discharged slowly through a central hole or instantly by opening the entire bottom of the same mixer.
The mixture will then be recovered in a large container below, and the process restarts again.

Continuous mixers

In continuous mixers, on the other hand, the ingredients are loaded simultaneously and continuously in the desired doses at the load point of the mixer, from where the product goes on and is mixed at the same time until it reaches the unloading point.
This process does not occur cyclically but continuously.

As for all the G&AS machines, dimensions, materials employed, and construction features are always conceived for the required use. They can therefore vary in size and functionality, they can be made of painted iron, AISI 304 stainless steel or AISI 316 with anti-residual functionality, with batch operation or even with rapid dismantling for cleaning etc.
